Emir of Kuwait issues decree accepting resignation of Finance Minister
In a separate decree, the Emir appointed Subaih Abdulaziz Abdul Mohsen Al-Mukhaizeem — the current Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy — to serve as acting Finance Minister while continuing in his existing role.
The announcement did not disclose the reasons behind Al-Fassam’s resignation. She had been serving as both Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment since her appointment in 2024 under the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
